Panafreight is Panavision Asia Pacific's new freight company.
I designed the logo by choosing individual letters from two different fonts. I hand kerned each letter to get the spacing perfect and then converted the letterforms to vector outlines so that I could custom shape some of the letters into a more unique look.
I sketched out the three rectangular logos in Photoshop. The three logos represent air, land and sea freight yet are reminiscent of film perforations as freight for the film industry and in particular freighting of motion picture cameras will be Panafreight's bread and butter work. Using the rough sketches as a guide, I refined the iconic shapes into compound paths in Illustrator.
Since all the art is vector, the logo can be scaled to any size and still maintain a razor sharp edge. The same file can be used to print anything from a business card to a billboard.
The first application of the logo has been Mike Noonan's business cards. The cards are printed with four colour process both sides utilising a four ink rich black colour, for blacker than black type. The cards are finished with a matt celloglaze both sides to maintain durability and give a nice quality feel in the hand.
