About:

Panavision Australia is the biggest motion picture camera rental company in Australia.

For the cover, I took some exisiting product shots and versions of the Panavision Ground Glass logo and created a series of motion blurred effects.

The clean versions of the product shots and logos were layered over multiple semi- transparent versions of the motion blurred images and also with a heap of other vector shapes and type. The final composite included about 100 layers.

The effect was enhanced by spot gloss varnishing the sharp elements and matt celloglazing the blurred elements. This really made the sharp elements pop off the page.

The inside of the catalogue was divided into 15 hand collated, tabbed sections. The dividers were custom die cut into an intricate series of double layered tabs. A single layered system could never cope with such a large number of sections.

The dividers were printed in two colour. The red ink has a strong preceeding effect against the grey technical drawing background. It almost appears 3-D. A matte celloglaze was used to ensure durability of the dividers.

Two colour printing was used throughout to keep the project economical.
