Panavision Australia is the biggest motion picture camera rental company in Australia.
For the cover, I took two exisiting product shots and composited with a Photoshop rendered background and some vector shapes. Subtle selective blurring and a film grain effect completes the layered look.
In addition to the two colour printed cover is a translucent plastic dust jacket that was silk screened with the logo and some type that appears to float over the cover.
The inside of the catalogue was divided into 15 hand collated, tabbed sections. The dividers were custom die cut into an intricate series of double layered tabs. A single layered system could never cope with such a large number of sections.
The dividers were printed with three colours. The bright green ink over the grey background possibly looks a little dated today, but in 2001 it was the height of fashion and received many positive comments. The production stillls on the dividers were printed with a two colour duotone process to get a better tonal range than using just a single ink. A matte celloglaze was used to ensure durability of the dividers.
Two colour printing was used throughout the main pages.
