Gear Head is a motion picture and television camera rental house based in Sydney. They have the only Sony F35 cameras available for rental in Australia.
This was a full page ad run in IF magazine.
The product shot came from Sony's marketing department. Not a bad shot, I didn't really have to do much to it. I wish they had taken the shot without the mattebox flaps in place though. It's always nice to get a bit of the front element in the shot, to save the front of the camera just looking like a black hole.
I created the 3-D looking F35 logo with the lighting effect in Photoshop.
The F35 that is what this ad is about period. You can get it at Gear Head and nowhere else. Seems like a no brainer to just put a honking big shot of a F35 and a big F35 logo on there.
In print it has this real 3-D look. It sort of jumps out at you. I heavily sharpened the image, but hand smoothed back any sharpening artifacts to get this hyper-sharp look. The background is right on the total ink limit for the stock, to give a blacker than black look.
