I designed this CD art for DJ Nic Godoy this week.
For the background, I composited small sections of a photograph of a public mural that I had previously taken in Havanna, Cuba. The result is seamless and unique.
The Latin feel is to suit the theme of the Reggaeton mix.
The disc was direct printed with a three colour thermal process. The latest thermal imaging machines, as used on this disc, can achieve surprising clarity, sharpness and density of colour. This is probably the first thermal based disc surface print that I consider as good as a screen printed process. The quality result really has to been seen to be believed.
